Bb Instrument (treble clef) and Piano
Adagio from Chorale No.3 by Cesar Franck, arr. James Moule
Best suited to cornet or flugel but playable on any Bb pitch instrument. This is a haunting melody, highly chromatic, excellent as a Slow Melody piece in a contest. Not technically difficult but needs a mature player to bring out the pathos.
A new version was uploaded in 2021, doubling the note values, addressing problems of eligibility in Slow Melody contests.
Duration: about 2'30"
Aeolian Harp Etude by Frederick Chopin
Greatly simplified version of this beautiful piece but the solo line is compatible with the original Op.25 No.1 etude, if the accompanist can play it!
Suitable for baritone or cornet. The expected rubato and nuanced dynamics are not evident in the MIDI file.
Demonstrates an extensive pitch range, making this more difficult than a glance would suggest.
