This glee gained the Prize Medal in 1764.

The absence of performance indications such as tempo, articulation, dynamics and phrasing suggests that Bach never expected these pieces to be played.
Set here for Bb Cornet, Eb Horn and four-valve Euphonium with extra parts provided for Part 2 (French Horn) and Part 3 in bass clef, this
is a fugue with three subjects and several counter-subjects. This is not an exact transcription.
The range of the parts makes it difficult and counting is critical, making this an excellent contest piece.

Contrapunctus XVI (Rectus) from "Die Kunst der Fuge" by J.S. Bach, arranged by James Moule
This is the first of a pair of "mirror" fugues, labelled "Rectus" and "Inversus".
Set for Soprano Cornet, Bb Cornet and four-valve Euphonium with extra parts provided for Part 1 (Bb Cornet) Part 2 (French Horn, Eb Horn) and Part 3 in bass clef, this
is a playful little fugue, preceding the two most profound pieces in the set.
The range of the parts makes it difficult and counting is critical, making this an excellent contest piece.

EBG-Bees by James Moule
Scored for Bb cornet, Eb tenor horn and euphonium, this piece is a little fugue based on the initials
of a friend of the composer for whom 2020 was a particularly tumultuous year. (It was enough to give her
the 'eebie-jeebies.) All turns out rosy in the end.
Being contrapuntal, accurate counting is essential and a wide range is exploited for each instrument.
Suitable for players of intermediate ability at junior contests.

of the performers for whom it was written (Xavier, Nathan, Linley).

Fugue on a Theme by Rimsky-Korsakov from "Mocba Rock" by James Moule
The "theme" is from the 3rd movement of the Trombone Concerto. Two versions provided: one scored
for cornet, baritone and euphonium, the other with tenor horn for Part 2.
Revised slightly in a better scoring program in 2019. Not difficult.

This Prize Glee of 1767 is a scurrilous attack on William Whiston and Humphry Ditton who were instrumental in getting the Longitude Act passed by the British parliament in 1714.

Handel must have thought highly of this jaunty movement as he used it in other works, notably an organ concerto.

Although titled "Trio Sonatas", these pieces are actually violin duets with the keyboard accompaniment written as a figured bass.
This transcription lowers the pitch so that the parts are within the tessitura of brass instruments.

Excellent for concerts and contests but requiring capable intermediate players.

Particularly beautiful slow movement, ending on a dominant chord, this requiring one of the movements below to complete the performance.

Callcott was a contemporary of Beethoven. This trio is set for lower brass but it works
well with two cornets and a tenor horn. The contrasting sections make it suitable for contests.
